Re: The Monsters RT4WD Civic
i've been following your build, got a question on the new panel piece you put on. i know you said it wasnt you in the picture doing this, but i'm trying understand how they did the work. i'm looking at doing the same thing with my car. do you know if they overlaped the metal a bit between the new piece and the body of the car and just bondo the seam out so you couldnt see where the new panel was glued on?

Re: The Monsters RT4WD Civic
So I am sorry for the long wait for the update, but I had to take 15 hours over this summer to catch up and hopefully graduate on time next year. But anyways the last part of the summer I had just enough time to finally get this damn thing painted!
So after I finally got it road worthy I took it down the road to my painters shop to get it finally ready for paint...which was a lot of ****.
First we started off by welding up the roof rack holes I had previously drilled when I first got the car.
Also welded up the antenna hole.
Priming the top
Next I got started straightening up the fenders and getting them ready for prime.
We had the prime the roof again after blocking and adding some more filler in spots.
Got all the old doors off.
Windshield and back hatch glass is out
Straightening up the hatch. I swear it's like someone went around this car and beat up every ******* panel..
Next we straightened up both sides and got them ready for prime.
Next was to block both sides sand the jams with finer paper.
We are going to paint the bumpers on another weekend...but I have ran into this problem with my EF9 bumper :/ and I'm going to have to do some hacking to fix it.
And ladies and gentleman! The outside is finally all one color and it'll be going to the booth tomorrow morning! I'm sorry to inform you tho, but the rest of the picture of the outside will more then likely be teasers until I get the car completely finished

Well....goals with this died off as I started my senior year of college and dove into my 2 semester long senior design project ontop of studies and all that jaz..than summer classes happened and my final semester of college (fall 2016) happened..
Well I am now graduated, got a job, and I finally got my own place with a garage!
I am finally competely moved in with all my tools and the wagon...I just ordered some parts/tools that I had lost in traslation with all this down time, and I hope to get a started on this thing as soon as the parts/tools get here!
LETS GO!!!

Re: The Monsters RT4WD Civic
Okie Dokie, had some other stuff going on like a drift event and what not so I didn't have much time to update this. But I put a little time into this past weekend.
So here is how she sits right now...
I was redoing the wiring in the engine before I quit working on this thing. I ended up find a rywire tuck harness for pretty cheap so I grabbed that.
And I am do the engine bay harness in techflex stuff similar to the rywire sleeving.
Hoping this comes out nicely...just very tedious and annoying to do.

Re: The Monsters RT4WD Civic
Well I am very annoyed with myself right now. I thought I had finished the passenger side harness...I quickly found out that I didn't pull enough wire out to be sleeved...so everything is a little to short lol..
So next plan of action is to take all my crappy work off, remove the old tower plugs off the harness since they are not utilized anymore, and methodically put as much sleeving on each group of wires as I can.
At least it still looks like it's going to turn out pretty nice once I fix my **** up....

Wow.
Im new to honda-tech, I have a '90 dx wagon. This build is absolutely killer and it inspired me to step up my game haha. Im currently getting a BS in MECE so I totally relate to the constant time crunch, im in the middle of a d16y8 swap, staying OBD0 and using turboedit.
ANyway amazing work man this is gonna be one of the cleanest wagons around and the whole fitment is on point with your rim/tire setup and bags.
I look forward to updates. subbd.

Re: The Monsters RT4WD Civic
Hello!! I'm BACK!
OKAY!! Soo two years later and this car still isn't done. SHOCKER!? But this is the damn year this car gets done! SO life updates: I'm married now..wife and I are getting comfortable into our careers and we pulled the trigger on our 'forever' home last august. We finally found one and moved in last October. It's a gnarly 4 bed/3bath on 5 acres and.... IT HAS A 3 car detached garage! So now I have NO excuse to not finishing this car. A couple months before we decided to move I ran my Miata into a wall at the track. So I decided to retire that shell and swap to another..in the process of doing that I also decided upgrade to a forged bottom end 1.8 engine. This was going on before and after we moved and I FINISHED IT and got it all back together and running a couple weeks ago. I told the wife that I would start on the Civic once the Miata was running and a certified ripper..and it is and here we are!
SO game plan! I am regretting extending my strut towers. For one, I hate how they did the cup for me and it also rubbed on the bag. Two, I didn't like how cheap and non adjustable the airlift air struts were. Three, now there are a couple companies that make adjustable air struts that work on the wagon without frame mods. I haven't decided if I'll stay air or not, but that's one reason why I am okay with going back to stock location for the strut tower. I would really like to find someone with a junk wagon shell that is willing to cut their rear struts towers out so I could possibly spot weld the whole strut tower metal section in like factory...but I haven't had good luck with that so far. In the mean time I'm going to try to salvage my modified strut towers and see if I can make it work. And this is where I am now with it.
ALSO: the motor is pulled out of the wagon now..dash and harness is out again as well. We will get to that soon though.
Here is where I am at with the wagon.
And snip it of the shop! (The s13 and sr20 **** is a buddies..I'm not that lame ;P )
