Default JDM D15B Sohc VTEC into 89 Hatch DX , ECU QUESTIONS???? PM6, P28, P08???????

whats good everyone? i got an 89 hatch DX swapping a jdm d15b sohc vtec motor, now my mechanic said to use a si ecu the pm6 so that is what i bought. i was wondering what is the difference in performance and just in general with the pm6, p28, and p08 and any other ecu i could use. what is the best, and what do y'all experts recommend. i already have the pm6 so i hope it is pretty good to use. also is there any difference if i were to run it without vtec vs with vtec? how much of loss would it be not wire the vtec? thanks

Tony

i wouldnt use the pm6 then you would have to have something activate vtec (apexi, field controller) or rpm switch the p28 is a good ecu and so is the p08 but th p08 is the jdm version that was made for the d15b vtec i have the same setup as you i have a 90 crx with the same engine i used the p28 cause you can find them anywhere try finding a ecu outa a civic si or ex 92-95 5speed which are all p28
hope i could help

Im using a PM6 Ecu on mine and a Switch to activate Vtec. Currently i Have a Really Rough Idle and it likes to cut off every now and then. Its starting to make me wounder if its the PM6 fuel maps. Basically it Cams at Idle. And no Vtec is not on. Maybe someone Else can chime in a tell us if theres Runs funny with the PM6. Other than that it works great for Cruizing and It pulls hard even with my 4 speed tranny.

hey bud, i have a 90 dx hatch, with a jdm 1.5 vtec swap, i am using a usdm p28 ecu (obd-1)

u know 88-91 cars are (obd0) right...blown hatch or bloomslang can help with the obd0-obd1 harness, then wire the vtec up

then a crx/civic si tranny is best
