Installing a trailer HITCH on a HATCH.....
I am looking to get a small 40X48 trailer to haul my art around to shows here and there. Maybe pulling 300lbs at most(including trailer & art)
I was wondering if anyone in here has ever installed a hitch themselves and does it interfere with exhaust, sway bar etc....
thanks....

Check with the automotive dept. manager at your local walmart,I had the manager at my local walmart order me one for my wifes car back in 2k1,it's a Reese Shadow mount, seems like it was $79 or $89.They may be able to order you one if its available for your car.I use it to haul the bike to the beach when we take it with us.

Taken from built b16 ( you know where to find me at if you want to fight )
Not a crx or a hatch but should give you some ideas.

Re: (1.6i)
yeah, im not sure what you want me to say.
but i have a GSR, and i loaded it down, and ide say about 1,000 LBS of load on that trailer, and i ran to the river and back, no less than 80 the whole way, with the AC ON, and still getting 20 MPG.
i love my hidden hitch.. no regrets at all.

Stouts 'n' Scotch
I used to work for U-Haul and have done a few of these. To answer some questions, the hitch should weigh around 20 lbs or so, it's only a class 1. There are weldnuts on your frame rails around the spare tire compartment that you can thread the bolts into, if you have undercoating it's a minor PITA to get them in bc you have to tap the crap out of the holes. The modification needed that the manufacturer warns about deals with the stock heat shield (which most people that have an aftermarket exhaust have gotten rid of anyways). Overall, a pretty easy install. Hope that helps .
EDIT: Just noticed how old this was. Maybe you can pass this info along to any prospective buyer.

yeah, thats me sticking my tounge out.
the hitch/bumper support is 100% STRONGER than the support by itself. i'm building an identical one for my hatch sometime this winter.

Dude, that hitch setup looks sweet. PM me when you start yours, I'll come check it out if I'm on break.
