ignition key elimination
ok so i want to do this i just have no clue how to start
i want to eliminate using a key to start the car i would like to have two switches and a push button to start one switch would be like turning the key into the acc. position and the other switch into the "on" position and a push button to start the car
any suggestions???
because i just have the idea but im lost lolz

Not sure how to do this, but doesn't seem too smart. Like if someone somehow knew where both the switches were they could take your car any ol' time without your consent.

Re: ignition key elimination
A better, but still questionable solution would be to still have the key in the mix...to access the first and second positions, THEN an actual starter button you can hide. This way a key is still ultimately needed to start the car despite it now being a push button.
In the ignition harness (I'd advise using a test light), there will be 4 wires. 1-Constant 12, 1-accessory wire, 3-1 ignition wire that works in tandem with 4)12-to-starter wire. Using ur test light to find 3-4 is needed, these will ONLY show 12v when the car is turned to the on position, and it's be between THOSE wires that you'll have to wire in your button/switch, It's early, I don't remember the colors but u can google it.

vs.
Independent hidden kill switch once he bypasses the alarm, he will be clueless where to start trying to figure out what is happening. This will add another layer of complexity and time to the mix.

Re: ignition key elimination
It will probably be better if the kill switches are independent of the alarm and are nowhere near the alarm. The logic is that a thief will have to disable the alarm either way, only your way, he may very well disable the alarm and your kill switch at the same time.

exactly and with a stealth alarm install and a back-up battery for the alarm, it's hard to disable it. Especially when you have sirens under the seats + outside the car. it all really depends on your location though, I guess.

LMFAO it would be hilarious to connect the alarm sirens to the car speakers
