Idle Problem - OBD0 B16A
Alright, this is starting to become more time consuming then it should be so i figured i'd see if i can get some input and yes i did search and read and tried everything i saw.
Now there is a check engine light with code 14, i've diagnosed the eacv/iacv and its fine along with all wiring, i've checked the fast idle control valve as well, along with checking for vacum leaks, coolant levels, and i know there isn't any air in the coolant system, everything seems technically fine. But at an idle which was at 1500 rpm constant is now down too 750 with the iacv/eacv blocked and the fast idle valve blocked but the car surges between around 150rpm(almost stalling) to 750 rpm. I swapped the throttle body out with one from a b17a1 and the surging stopped but at a steady rpm it would surge a little bit so i swapped them back. Also if i unplug the iacv the entire engine shuts off so i can set the idle speed setting with the idle adjustment screw either. If you have any input, ideas, or just want to say 'you idiot' please do.

Re: Idle Problem - OBD0 B16A (acidx)
i just took off my eacv (i think its the eacv..the one under the throttle body) off and cleaned it out..there was a bunch of crap in there..looked like crusty *** coolant or something...so i scraped all of that crap outta there and then adjusted it all the way in and then out 2 turns...my idle is perfect now.
i was having similar problems with my idle before doing so.
hope that helps...You Idiot!!
