How to test for a bad CV joint? help....
I finally got my car running perfect and when i take left turns there is a clunking sound coming from the front end. I think it is the CV because it does it with the clutch in and with it out. It is only when i take left turns. Anybody know how to test to make sure it is the CV so i dont' waste more money?

If it knocks during turn its most likely the axle. You might feel a little odd vibration coming from there 2. You can also get under the car and look at the boots. If they are torn they need to be replaced. Its also a good idea to change them both at the same time. HTH

I have the same problem on only left turns. I have a b16 swap and it seems my cv joints are binding up when turn. I've taken it to like 3 local import shops who do swaps and they don't know why it is. Anyone have any idea.

i dont think you can replace just the joint, you have to replace the axle, theres a short one on the passengers side and a long one on the drivers side, they're not too hard to do, just did mine last week.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. You are going to need to change the whole axle not just the boot. If the cv joint is knocking the axle must be changed. You know to change the axle when it make a noticable popping noise when you turn. Change both axles out at the same time even if only one is knocking/popping.
*EDIT* some shops will rebuild your axles for you but its gonna co$t.

Sounds like something is up with the axle its self to me... He said it does it when the clutch is in. If it were the cv, It would only do it when power is applied. Did you get new axles with your swap? Your stock axles will not work, I think the driver side is too long. Here is a link to a good write up on it... http://www.hasport.com/B16axles.htm
