Its probly from salt? or just the Freezeing cold. Keep the car in a garage if possible.
Dont lower your car, and wash the undercarrage as much as possible.

What kind of boot are you using? Is it one of the crappy split boots or a real boot? I've noticed that, as you would expect, the split boots have a high failure rate.

its the real boot, i just changed the dang axel yesterday, it was a pain. the winters here in tennessee are cold.
