How to fix your idleing woes! FITV IACV

Re: How to fix your idleing woes! FITV IACV
Hello,
I'm a new user on Honda-Tech, but I have a old problem...
I have EJ9 with swap from EG - B16A2
I saw that my FITV isn't connected anywhere. Probably the person who made swap, forgot or did it deliberately...
I mean, FITV is placed properly but no hose is connnected to it.
Could you point me please a diagram how it should be connected correctly?
Hoses connection...
Sorry for my english.

looks like you should have a water hose running from the small nipple on your i/m or the water tube on the back of the block to the fitv, then from the fitv to the iacv, then from there back to the water tube again.
on a side note, i currently have my fitv coolant lines by passed, but i will have to hook them back up after i adjust my fitv cuz i'm getting an idle that starts off at almost 2 grand, then goes down to like 400, and when it gets warmed up it will tend to try to die...

A buddy of mine was asking me about this post the other day, so I hope it's no problem if I bring it back up.

Thanks for bringing it back up. Had it bookmarked, but then lost it. Need to do this to my 90 CRX Si soon (not that I have my coolant leaks fixed).

I have a 90 civic hatch dx that idles at around 1200rpm..i cleaned out the screen on the IACV which helped a little bit but it is still idling above 1000rpm..i can't seem to find the FITV (i'm not sure this car has one) what other options do i have to fix the idle problem??

New member to the forum bringing this one back because it fixed my issue. Started with cleaning the iac which helped but idle surge continued. Once I cleaned up the fit valve idle issues are gone. Thanks for the info

Re: How to fix your idleing woes! FITV IACV
i cleaned my IACV and it seems to have resolved an irratic idle prob. but now when i turn on my headlights it pulls the RPM's down to almost dying. is this an idle adj. screw issue or possibly something else. also my IACV doesnt have the screen like the one in pics... is that common or???

Cleaning my IACV fixed my stalling out issue btw.
Sprayed the heck out of it, was pretty dirty inside. I had no mesh on mine though "DOHC ZC", however inside is a white plastic rippled device that was coated and looked like a burned chunk of meat. Spraying it with throttle cleaner revealed it as the white rippled device!

Re: How to fix your idleing woes! FITV IACV
Bringing it back.
I've got a '90 hatch dx with a zc swap with surging idle. I've read through this a few times, and tried blocking the FITV hole. The idle dropped, but still surged. Tried blocking the other hole, didnt die so i'm guessing a vacuum leak on that. Put a brand new IACV on, no change. Tightened the FITV, still surging. If I block both openings, it gives me a normal smooth idle.
I suppose I need to check everything for leaks? Change the FITV? Any ideas?

Re: How to fix your idleing woes! FITV IACV
Hate to double post, but I've been reading around, and have heard of many people simply bypassing the FIT valve. Any adverse effects to doing this?
