how do i replace headgasket on 89 crx?
Any 1 have step by step instructions. I figured it would be easier than paying for labor. and much easier than b series. What do you guys think. Anyone replace headgasket before, it blowing white smoke like crazy

It's easy but I wouldn't rely on step by step instructions from a "forum"...at least get a manual or book.
Taking it apart is kinda self explanatory, but you have torque specs to deal with when you assemble it back. Also, get your cyl head shaved a bit too or decked in case it's warped.

and seriously getting the head resurfaced is a must...i found that out the hard way along time ago... might want to do a valve adjustment too...gl

Resurfacing is not necessary unless the cyclinder head or block is warped. You'll need a presision straight edge and feeler gauge to check. I'm guessing no more the .002" is allowed. You'll really need the manual to do it correctly as EF_LSVtec already stated. Good luck

Good luck,this is a good couple of hours of labor for someone who has never done it before. I've seen people been able to get a head off in 30 minutes. And i've seen people who could take 3 hours. So its all experience.
