Default HID ballast ??

will these ballasts burn out my stock EF hatch wire harness ? i got some just like this from a Nissan 350z, i dont know if u gotta ground them somehow or if i was to use them do they have the ingniter in the ballst already bc they only have one circle ballast they dont have any other part that comes off like some that have a relay or what ever . if anyone could tell me how it works i appreciate it thanks -jason

i have 2 ballast w bulbs one works fine but every time i turn them on the one works but when i shut them off my fuse blows. and the other one doesnt work the kid i got them from said it had to be grounded to work but i dont know why bc the other one works fine so maybe its just blown.

do yourself a favor and upgrade the harness! apc makes a kit for like 20 or 30 bucks!

I use BMW HID's with no problems with my factory headlight harness. they do have to be grounded to work. How did you get the other one to light up? There's only 2 wires. red=power and black=ground

yeah u can use your stock harness... its just risky. ur pulling alot more juice to power the hid's. you can power each of them from your factory harness, only need the power wire. ground can go to chassis.

the 2 wires red and black are goin into the 9006 harness plug how do u ground them there is no other wires like i siad one works fine when i plug it into the 9006 harnees on my car it lights up just blows out the fuse everytime , the other one i plugged in and it not workin but the guy who had them said it has to be grounded somehow to make it work the kit i have is same as in the pic i have shown

SO ((( jdm_EF9 ))) i can just use the power in one side of the 9006 plug and the other black ground i have to ground to the frame somewhere ????

basically here it is... this is how mine are setup. you have two wires coming from each ballast- red and black. the black from each goes to the chassis(ground). then i took each red wire and spliced it into the "hot" wire on my harness. by "hot" wire i mean the wire the gets juice when you turn the head lights on. that should be it! the only other thing you might have to do is ground the ballast itself(is is metal?) good luck.

screw the ballast to something metal and plug your stock harness into them, you might have to elongate the wires depending on where you mount them, i had the same problem ,just up the fuse to the next size i think it was a 15 amp insted of 10, ive been running them for 2 years no problem, do yourself a favor and buy a real set of 9006 retrofit hid bulbs off ebay for $100, if you stick the ones that came with that ballast in it doesnt light evenly

ya they are metal, and earlier i hooked them up to my batt. and they both turned on and worked fine fired right up bright as hell. so ya tomoro im gonna hoook them into the car and wire them directly up to the harness instead of using the connecter plug and im gonna put in a 30 amp fuse . thanks

the HIDS are in ! we put into the high beam slot on our halo projecters the low beams are projecters the high beam is just open hole so put them in the high beam hole and they work fine they shine really bright they are 5300k so when we need extra help seeing at night we can put the hids on down dark roads.
