HELP! Oil in intake
Ok so I just about had with this damn oil in my intake ive gotten advice to change the pcv but i dont believe thats the culprit. I seem to be getting oil from the hose that connects to the valve cover and intake. I believe an oil catch can can fix this but ive been getting confused with people running lines to the back of the block and running a gutted pcv and i just dont understand anything. I was just wondering if i could run the hose from the valve cover to the catch can then another hose from the catch can to the intake?... and any recommendation on catch cans. Im getting quite a bit of oil in the intake and it smokes white at high rpms
any advise or help is apprecaited even lecturing me is fine, im here to learn

Re: HELP! Oil in intake
From what I see on Majestic Honda's site, the 99 Civic Si (B16A1) and the 90 CRX Si (D16A60) use the same PCV valve, so just get one for a 90-91 CRX Si

Re: HELP! Oil in intake
That's a lot more detailed and requires removing the "factory catch-can" to do iit right... So just try it and see what happens - in the mean time search google for catch can installs they are all over the place.

Catch cans typically have 3 ports. Some are return style others are containment that you have to manually drain perodicly. These in my opinion are a waste of time, not only that but you lose oil on top of it because it is not returning. The ports are - incoming from valve cover, vent to atmosphere, and drain/ return. Essentially you could make it out of a coffee can if you wanted to be ghetto.
To do it right remove the black box and seal the port and use the smaller port on on the block; or fab something to hook the return line through the factory drain back. Cap/ plug the other lines you removed besides the valve cover. Keep the catch can as high as physically possible. Run your lines to their respective places. That's all there is to it.

You make it sound easy but im hella confused lol I know if you install a oil catch can properly you have better performance results but im just trying to prevent oil in my intake so after i replace the pcv which should be tomorrow i was wondering if i could just get an nrg catch can and connect to the valve cover and intake and if so will i need to put steel wool inside?....
