did you remove the hoses that connects the heater core? Which is located inside the engine bay and you should be able to pull it off.

when i was doing this my core didnt want to come out, so i pulled on it really hard. after an hour or two it came out.

Make sure you get all the bolts out from inside first. Then like said above take the heater hoses all over and then disconect all the wires and everything. then it should just come right out. I just took mine out for paint like a couple weeks ago.
