Good deal.
My girlfriend's brother picked this up tonight for about $3000. 20k on the engine, turbo, blah blah. But the engine he said was a JDM DOHC (something about the DOHCs that came in CRXs in Japan). But really to me it looks like a brown/black top DOHC from a late 80s early 90s integra, like a D16A1. Just wanted to know for sure what it is.

Re: Good deal. (harmonator)
Yea 1 sec. But it does need to at least be sprayed. It's black primer right now, and the interior is gutted for the most part but I've got all that from a 90 that I'm gonna give him.

Re: Good deal. (Booz)
D16A where single SOHC. B18A's and B seroius where DOHC. look on the bottom end of the engine it should tell u. The crx's in japan had B16's in them. but i doubt that is what he has. does his have vtec if not then its not from jdm.

Not sure about the manifold, I went about 30m in the wrong direction of the car (b/c I was given the wrong location) and didn't get to look at it a whole lot b/c he'd already bought it. Only thing about the turbo for sure is that it's Greddy.

Not sure on the manifold, like I said I didn't get to look at it long; but I might be seeing it again this weekend so I'll have more specifics.

I drove the **** out of it. Not a fan of turbos myself, I'd rather have a supercharger but this car might have changed my mind.

Re: Good deal. (Booz)
the zc's are pretty damn tourquey when they are turboed. mine put out 207 hp and 172 tq just last week at the dyno. you know the size of his turbo or do you just know the basics of it?

if your asking me no i did not rebuild it and am only running 8.5 pounds of boost with no boostspikes what so ever. the stock b18 should be good for 8-10 pounds

Re: Good deal. (freshly boosted DOHC ZC)
Saw it this past weekend. It just says "ZC" on it, so I'm assuming a DOHC ZC. The guy claims it came from Japan but I thought the only ones from there were RHD cars.
Isn't there something peculiar about using a jdm ZC in the US? Like registering it or something?
Just wanna make sure my buddy (he already bought it) doesn't get screwed for some overlooked detail.
Thanks

You're not going to have any issues here in North Carolina with motors that don't 'match' the car (excluding 96+ cars trying to run OBD-1 or less) That would be a California thing
Technically, you're supposed to bring any motor up to US spec (Intake Manifold and emissions equipment usually have to be swapped out for USDM parts) but we don't care here.
<-- used to inspect in NC.
