Getting ready to burn chip for ecu. Anybody have program?
I am getting ready to burn a chip for my car. I currently do not have a wideband but I would like to start with a base map from someone with similar mods.
I have the chips already and I am getting ready to purchase the burner.
All I am looking for is a map to start with.
I have a JDM B16 from an Xsi PR3 ECU
DC sport 4-2-1 header
custom exhaust
CTR pistons
AEM intake
If you have a program already set up, let me know.
I am open to use ghetto dyne, crome, or turbo edit.
If you have something else that works with OBD0 I am interested.
Mugen program?
Thanks for the help.

i doubt anyone is going to give u the proggi, but from the things you have, you cant go wrong with the TODA rom, and if u cant get that one just go with the MUGEN or SPOON they are also good, but not as dope as the TODA

With your setup....none of those programs will run your car well...you'll just run obnoxiously rich.

Thanks. I am looking into getting a wide band, then I can tune my own map.
The trouble is they are not cheap. I gues I will just have to save up.

wow, sounds like u never ran the TODA before...the others do run rich, but the TODA does not (hence gives the most power), it runs kinda lean if you look at it with a rom editor...also the timing is way diff then the other 2...

i beg to differ on the toda running rich also. i ran it on my buddies b16a w/ similar mods, and wideband was pretty good.
that program has very aggressive timing maps, they are the same on the low and hi cam portion.
also look into BRE its the only obd0 vtec rom editor that seems to be most accurate.

Re: (Fobtions)
Where do you get BRE?
I am currently looking at turboedit (works with NA also) and Crome.
I already desoldered my chip from the ecu and soldered in a zif socket.
I currently put the stock chip back into the zif socket. No codes so it survived the desoldering.
The next step will be to copy the stock chip onto my pc and burn a copy of the stock. Then I plan to check for codes on that chip.
After that I can't really proceed until I save up enough for a wideband.
Any adjustments to the map without one would be a shot in the dark.
That gives me a little time to study the edit software I want to use.
I appriciate any input on this, I am on a pretty steep learning curve.

Re: (B16_madman)
Thanks, there are a number of sites with good info.
The big problem I am having is a lot of the links on those sites are not working.
PGMFI has a link to the BRE software, but it doesnt work.
Turbo edit has a library of ROM's, but it is under construction.
Hopefully these sites will come together.
Anyone else know were to get the BRE software?
Any opinions on the other OBD-0 software packages?
Thanks for the help
