Default Getting my 90 Civic back on the Track

I needed to get back in a ef hatch so i sold this

and i took a 6 hour round trip to pick up this

its a 1990 Honda Civic hatchback
b18a1 swap with a fresh head rebuild
ground control coilovers
dc header
skunk2 exhaust
6 point roll cage
5 point harness

the car does have some body damage but im fine with it

the car was clearly a old track car and my goal is to get her back out there.

i started simple and cleaned the engine bay

some more pics

I started cleaning the interior. i still need to remove the rear seats

repainted the front bumper and adjusted the front coilovers

repainted the trim and rear bumper. also new jdm bandaid and hood bra

aaannnddd new wheels. Avid 15x8 +25 wrapped in 205/50/15s

the rear is so high because one of the allen key screws on the coilovers is seized so i get to drill it out next week and replace it. also working on getting a new windshield and a lower ball joint.

Those wheels would've looked good on your gold hatch!

also installed front and rear upper strut bars. im installing the lowers and c pillar bar later

added hub centering rings

i also got around to lowering the rear a little more and rising the front a little. the back was to much monster truck and the front was to stance and not enough track

this is what happens when i get bored

Looking good. I just picked up an 89 si recently and have been going through it. All around energy suspension bushings, all new coil overs and shocks, aem cold air. Now I'm looking for some headers and sprucing up the engine (B18c1) a bit. Keep the pics coming.

You had me until here. When you say "Track", what exactly are you referring to?

oh wait something else happened before that ... what was it... oh ya i got married

the wife helping me adjust the coilovers

and we made it to eureka springs safe

after the long trips i realized my suspension is crap. the 25 year old shocks and struts are shot and the rigged coilover sleeve is not the best. so upgrades are on the way! the new coilover set up is gonna be skunk2 sport shocks and struts with ebay sleeves but with the eibach/ground control springs. also getting ready to replace the wind shield. also have an adjustable shifter extention, mugen shift ****, and rear camber kit.

"the new coilover set up is gonna be skunk2 sport shocks and struts with ebay sleeves but with the eibach/ground control springs. "

Might as well use the money you save from buying ebay sleeves to get better shocks than the skunk2's. Look into kyb agx, tokico illuminas( which in my 89 hatch), or Koni yellows.

im on a tight budget and i need to replace the broken coilover collar and the bad shocks. the skunk2s are still good and the the new collars and ground control springs will make a good daily/track set up

I really enjoy your build man, keep up the good work! I'm hoping to go in a similar direction as you on my current build..... I just keep running into road blocks as my car is starting to turn into a can of worms (so to speak) :/
