Fuel level gauge.... helpful advice.
never get rid of your factory fuel level gauge if you ever care about your fuel levels.
OR
if you do, get a fuel cell.
I recently added an autometer fuel level gauge which doesn't work with the honda fuel level sender. So, bought an autometer one to work with the gauge.
However, the oem fuel level sender snakes thru the fuel tank... the autometer fuel sender is pretty much a drop in.
After some bending and fab work, i got the autometer fuel level sender to fit inside the fuel tank. Only problem... when i fill the tank up, the gauge only reads that it's 1/3 full cause the sender can't reach it's full range. fun.
but, a fuel cell would alleviate some of those issues as the autometer sender would simply drop straight down.
CN: keep your oem fuel level gauge unless you have a fuel cell or want to fab everything.

it wouldn't work with the autometer gauge. i haven't found a gauge that works with the ohms the stock sender uses, except the oem gauge.
