ya, if it's unplugged, it doesn't work, doesn't move, and your surge stops. With no CEL that's not because of a moving signal. So you're left with it's reaction, so clean/replace it.

You could try recleaning it or just replace it. Definitely being caused by the IACV. I've been fighting with the same problem on one of my cars lately and haven't been able to fix it by cleaning the IACV so I'm just going to replace it.

Good call guys. I took the IACV off again to clean (again)....look what I found.
This must have happened when I was removing the intake manifold the first time - hence why this problem just suddenly appeared.
Got a new one on order!
