Default EE8 VT dash swap into EE9 VT --> pic's inside!

This is how we started: EE9 dash without centre console, speaker covers and front seats.

The result after the first day: No seats, no dash due to unforseen extra work we needed to do in order to get the complete EE8 dash to function correctly. So I put my baby back to sleep for 3 weeks (untill past saturday) and the story continues from there... Judging from the pictures it may seem that we didn't do anything that day, but the opposite is true

So past fridaynight I got the car out of it's shelter again. I took off the doorcards, and the snap-off hub with the steering wheel (done after taking these pic's). This way all was ready to start the work on saturday.

As you can see it was still a little dark when we started saturday morning...

Here you see Ewald swapping the under-dash harness from the Civic dash to the CRX dash.

As you can see Ewald was very confident by showing the "thumbs-up"

Here you can see that we removed the "EE9 cable-heater-motor" and the duct that connects the motor with the unit in the centre-console itself.

Here you see Ewald creating a new harness for the EF9 folding mirrors:

Robin had arrived in the meantime and was inspecting the "EE8 electronic-heater-motor"

Genuine craftsmen doing their thing in a perfect way and still having the time to be a smartass, don't you Robin?

Taken from the outside of the car through the front windscreen:

Quite some work under the hood had to be done also:

Robin connecting the wires....and a lot of wires there were!

EE8 DASH y00000000000000000000!!!!

Mounting the cluster:

Proudly presenting: Honda Acces light-up garnish:

The in-car result so far. Still to do: mount the doorcards, mount the centre-console, mount the e-brake coverand mount the passengers-seat.

JDM EF9 amber dashboard clock:

The cluster:

Piece of the dashboard with the clock and the EE8 control unit:

Last but not least: EF9 folding mirrors y000000000000000000000000

Finally I really want to express my gratitude to Ewald, Robin and Marc for helping me out (and in some parts of the swap doing all the work!) We had quite a few laughs and it's always very nice to look back on work wich has been done so thoroughly. Like Ewald and Robin put it at one moment while both laying upside-down and inside-out in the car in order to be able to do all the work on the main harness: this is at least OEM Honda quality, or better! It's a great feeling to know that everything has been done in the most perfect possible way!!

Thanks again guys!!!!!

Digging the dash, although its more work than I would put in for that sort of thing.

Then again, I am the guy that spent two days figuring out on my own how to properly swap pans, and get GSR leathers into my car when I could have just paid to have my original seats reupholstered... ah well, the things we do for our own enjoyment can be fun

on a good build!

Very nice post, hopefully it will show some of those interested in swapping dashes how much work needs to be done to do it correctly. The Access light up garnish is an absolutely pimpish find too y0.

Curious, is it relatively easy to find JDM parts in Europe? If so, I've got some relatives over there....... hmmmmmm.

Actually this was a find by the previous owner of my car. He bought the garnish, completely stripped it down, cleaned, resprayed everything, got it to work again, put all new parts in it and never got around to mount it lol. I have never seen a garnish in such condition!!!!

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't lol. Perhaps I can help you get some parts.

Thanks for all the kind words!

The end-result.

Interior: next step is 2 bucket seats, some seatbelts and a roll-cage.

Exterior: Next steps are mounting the other window-visor, doing the 5 lug conversion (hopefully before the end of this year), getting the KW-variant 3 suspension, mounting the rest of the sway bars etc.

I would also like to get some of those floor mats and other EDM parts how much do you think it would be to ship some of those parts to the US? (in us dollars) would greatly appreciate the info. thanks on your project it looks clean.
