Default Do I need a valve adjustment

I am hearing a load clicking noise coming from the engine, it starts and then stops and then will start up again. Has anyone heard this when they needed a valve adjustment?

yeah it sounds like you need to adjust your valves, but the best was is to get some one else to help you cause it is just easier this way

get a manual so you know the valve clearences (i think intake .006, and the exsuast is like .007)
get a feeler gauge and find the gauge for it
have some on turn the crank while you are adjusting it make sure the valve you are adjusting is at top dead center
turn the nut and the turn the screw in the middle and then slip the feeler gauge inbetween the rocker and hte valve and screw down the screw till it is tight but you are still able to move the gauge out and leave the screw driver on the screw and tighten the nut back
do that to all of you valves and the taping should quit

but if that doesnt work listen to see if the knocking is in the low end cause a knocking may be a crank bearing and that is not good
