d16a9 cams have less lift and duration than zc cams. if you put them in, your car will run like poop. if your cams are b**ched up and you cant use them as is, send em out to webcamshafts.com or JGEngineering as regrinds and make em better. if you dont have cams at all.........good luck. check on thezcr.com for more info.

Less lift and duration, but more power?

It was my understanding that the differences between the d16a9 and the ZC where just different emission regulations.

Youre reading it backwards. The ZC cams have more lift and duration. As far as i know, this is true. Its about the only real difference between a ZC engine and a D engine.

d16a9 was rated at 130... and was rated without a catalytic converter.
d16a8 is identical, but rated at 124... WITH a cat.

dohc zc is rated at about the same... 135 with the brown top, 130ish with the black... when it comes down to it, 5 crank horsepower isn't going to kill you.

135?! The brown top was superseded by the black top. It was old and im pretty sure it was only good for no more then 120hp if that.
