Default Difference between 88-89 and 90-91 cluster

Can anyone tell me whats the difference.
I know the wiring is different, but the thing is I want to sell something I know is an 90-91
There are sharp points on the plastic on the 90-91 right?

the 88-89 is square and the temp and gas are bigger and almost touch each other. also they dont have a gear lights if it's an auto. the high beam indiacator is part of the idiot lights.

the 90-91 are more rounded then the 88-89 and the temp and gas gagues re smaler and have the gear lights it it's an auto. also the high beam indicator is up above the the gauges next to the left turn signal light.

first off before you mouth off, like an idiot.
I plugged the cluster in my 89 hatch back when i had it, and it didn't work.
Second, as said above, the 90-91 has small gas gauges and temp gauges.
which is what is it
When I get home, i'll take a pic, and if you want a refund go ahead, i could care less, i'll refund your money
I am just going by what the above people on honda-tech have said.

i think so too. but i went extensively because he made this thread to be able to tell the difference so he could sell it to me. allegedly he thought it was 90-91 and sold me a 88-89. its on the way back to his house right now.

Need 90-91 cluster with tach that works with 91 DX 5-speed manual! Sorry for trying to bargain down prices, hit me with your offers again if I drove you off

"Can PLEASE someone tell me what the blue plugs in the middle of these clusters are for??? Thanks" Yes, somebody do tell. I'd like to know what is up with those, and why some are small and blue and others are larger and some other color.

The pics up there don't show the difference between the 88-89 and 90-91. One of those is a cluster with a stock tach and one is a cluster with out a stock tach. the only differences I have found are the mounting points. I put an 88 cluster in my 89 and the rpm guage was a bit different. It was the same size and everything, but the red portion after 6,500 was kinda shaded red instead of solid. Neither my 88 or my 89 cluster have the blue plug but my 90 did. I followed the wires and still couldn't figure out what it was for.

you obviously dont know how to read or look at pics. look at the shape of the cluster and the pic of the 88-89 inside the 90-91 hood.

Ok im gonna solve this. the cluster with a tach, is out of an 88-89 si CRX. the other one, without a tach, is out of a 90-91 hatchback. NOw wether or not u can rewire it to work i dont know, but i do know that it has been covered on here before. As far as jsut pluging it up and driving off, no it will not work.
SO to MugenHonda, that is why it did not work in your car, cuz its a crx cluster.
