Dash Lights and more
So i bought this 89 Civic Hatch for $300 and its pretty awesome. But my dash lights, tach, temp gauge, and fuel gauge dont work/light up. The kicker is that the fuel gauge will move up and down from time to time and the temp gauge will go from dead cold to holy **** over heating when my head lights are turned on but will pin the gauge when high beams are on.
I checked all the fuses and the harness to the cluster is good plus the tach cable is plugged in and in great condition.... HELP ME!

Just hold tight dude... Looking thru wiring diagrams. You got a good one there. Maybe someone can help, I'll have to get back to you. Maybe check this ground and connection to fuse box:
Or this connector to fuse box:
Maybe this:
Idk, but that's all I got for now. Still looking. Really hard to troubleshoot without being there. Look at the diagrams and tell me if ANYTHING associated with the circuits marked is also screwed up. Kinda sounds like a floating ground though... Did someone install a stereo and maybe change something?

Check your tail lights too. In my CRX the dash and tail lights are on the same fuse and it had blown, resulting in me being pulled over at night as I didn't know the tail lights were out. I also had the bouncing temp gauge in mine, but I replaced the whole cluster and no problems with it now.

I checked with all schematics and the red/black wires that come from the cluster harness to the fuse block were chopped off so re-connected them but i still don't see my dash lights. maybe cause its noon but ill see if they come on tonight and if not everything else looks fine and the fuses are good. my tail lights, licence plate lights, and the appropriate switches function fine.
