a mig welder and a grinder........
no really, taking out 2nd oil jacket from the dizzy side of the block(between cylinders 3 and 4)
after thats done, the other non wiring related part is changing to a new Y8 timing belt.
Wow I just realized you meant a8 not y8.....

Heh...i already have an A8 here waiting to get it's bottom end rebuilt...thought i'd have some fun with a DOHC head on a D15 block.
Anyone else has more info?
Just to make sure everyone knows what i'm talking about - D16A8 is just a european version of ZC. So, if anyone mated a ZC head to D15B2 - share some info!

We don't get ZCs here in Croatia, only D16A8/9.
Can you explain to me WHY exactly you can't mate these together? What doesn't line up? Have you something to back it up?

I don't get it...what are you trying to prove? 2 cams are in the head, head is mated to the block. What does block have to do with SOHC od DOHC?
Does this make sense: You use a 88 Acura Integra (D16A1?) Head Gasket on a ZC. It means ZC has the same holes on the head as the D16A1 head? It means that if you can bolt the D16A1 head on a D15B2, that you can bolt a ZC head on it too?

The title says d16y8 head on a zc block. The y8 is SOHC, and then the picture has a y7 there, and then it says DOHC, that post doesn't make any fucken sense to me.

Plain is simple man:
THE HEAD BOLTS WON'T LINE UP!!! THIS WILL NOT WORK! DO NOT ATTEMPT IT! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!
The head bolts are in different locations. Same thing goes for the SOHC D16A6, head won't fit. The ZC block is longer on the DOHC, now the SOHC would work, but your head won't. Leave it be. Besides, if you have a D15B2, you have DPFI, then you have to do the MPFI conversion. Just wait for the bottom end to come back and install it all as a complete package.

Ok, thanks man. I guess i'll just wait and install the whole thing at once. I thought i could have some fun until i get the bottom end ready, but i guess i couldn't.
By the way, i'd have to do the MPFI conversion one way or another.

See, you have never tried to do it, but you keep saying it's impossible. That's what bothers me. You had no proof that it wouldn't work, you just heard others say it wouldn't work and you try to convince me it wouldn't, with nothing to back up your story.
Don't do that...

See dude, you talk about things you're not even sure of. I'm just saying - if you don't know, then say you HEARD it might/couldn't be done, but don't say it CAN'T be done.
Besides, if i had a block to look at, i wouldn't bother coming here and asking.
This is end of discussion for me.
