okay i found that cam gears that they make for the zc at jg engine dynamics ... but on there application guide it says that the d16a9 cam gears are not interchangeable, it didnt say anything about the a8 but to my knowledge the only difference from the a8 and a9 is cat converter.... can you guys prove me wrong???? i dont want to go buy'em to find out that they dont fit.

Re: (MANDO6669)
oh, intresting motor. about the cam gears, when i had my DOHC ZC i used JG cam gears, and im sure i got the B series model.
can you get a count of how many teeth are on your cam gears?
i can get pictures of my Dohc zc factory cam gears for comparison refference so you can compare them to yours. and if they match. you should be good with any B series cam gears.

Then why the difference in name?
BTW, I like that engine. If you ever want a DOHC ZC cover I'll trade you.

Re: (civicjdmb16a)
Found this on hybrid honda
There are three versions of the ZC that I am aware of, but there could be more
D16A8 Euro. spec featuring EFI
D16A9 Euro. spec featuring Carbs
ZC Jap. spec featuring EFI

Re: (MANDO6669)
yeah mine were just like that but silver. i think all JG camgears had the same design...
if they still offer the ZC model i would get that. because honestly i got rid of those back in 2002. so i may have got the ZC instead of the B series. but when i sold it... i sold it as a B series cam gear. so maybe it was B series. HA
and i also recall comparing them side by side with a skunk2 b series cam gear. and the skunk2 had more off an off set, but other then that it had the same teeth count and diameter.
oh yeah, the JG cam gear teeth was horrible, and jaggy, and the bolt stripped easly, that was another reason why i sold them. they wernt nice as the skunk2's

Re: (MANDO6669)
no skunk2 does not make a ZC version, but B series is what you would use... and that goes for AEM, fidanza, ETC.
like i said, the offset is the only difference...

Re: (Lam.N)
yea ... i was lookin at that already ... im doing this for performance engine tuning class for my school that im taking ... and i get to use the dyno as much as i want, as long as i dont venture off to many degrees to cause an interference i should be able to tune it to its capacity... heheheh .. quick question ... is the d16a8 an interference motor aneway?
