Default D16A6 in an '87 crx

Will a D16A6 (1.6L) from a '90 crx si fit in an '87 and mount up to the tranny? I'm not sure if the 1st gen. crx's are hf, dx and si but I'd probably need the info on those too if they are.

I do know that the current engine in the '87 is a 1.5L

Thanks

no, D16A6 will not bolt to 1g CRX transmission - also, you would need to fabricate mounts to put the A6 into the 1g - if the 1g is not Si, then you would need the fuel system and most of the wiring from 1g Si - a D16A1 from 86-87 will be the closest thing that will work

In other words, it's not an easy swap. I'd recommend a D16A1 from an 86-87 Integra like jlicrx said or a brown-top DOHC ZC.

Correction:

The car that the engine 'might' be going into is an 89 Civic hatchback DX. So I'd like to know the same thing, will a 1.6L engine (D16A6) from a 90 crx si fit in this car.

Thank you

Thank you </TD></TR></TABLE>yes, the engine will bolt right in - you will need to convert the wiring from DPFI to MPFI
