d15b2 Which pistons/rods will work?
Ok I have a 90 crx dx and the oil rings gave out right when I finished buying a d16z6 head swap. So I want to rebuild the bottom end and slap on the z6 head and maybe a turbo.
I would like to go all motor since that would be the cheaper route, but would the 10.5:1 compression pistons and a d16z6 head be enough to make some good power?
I know the d series pistons sit the highest and i can use a d16y8 head gasket with the z6 head and the car would be pretty quick, but if i go with the 9.0 compression pistons i could always slap on a turbo and up the boost to make power.
But since the stock compression is 9.2 will the 2 tenths difference in compression make a big difference in horsepower? (considering that i am going from dpfi to mpfi and vtec) Because the turbo would go on later i would have to drive around with the 9.0 compression pistons for a while.
Im used to rebuilding 4g63 engines and this is my first honda setup. thanks
