Default d15b2/d16z6 bastard child

Has anyone done a d15b2 d16z6 mini-me build? I have the d15 in my rex right now, and can get the z6 head very easy and wondered the possibility of this being cost and time effective.I know very little about mini-me, and i searched for an explanation of mini-me, found nothing, but used the information i did find to deduce that this crazy *** frankenstein **** would ever work.Im not certain, but thats why im asking. Anyone with any info or advice help is appreciated.Search is my friend!!!

You didn't search hard enough =\

Yeah the Z6 will work with the B2, but I would rather use an A6 bottom end (its a bit beefier). With the Z6, I would suggest using a OBD0-OBD1 conversion harness from jkobd. On top of that, getting a D16z6 distributor, 4 wire o2 sensor, and a D16y8 manifold. Could add a nice street cam to that setup.

Good push

I couldn't decide if you kidding or not.

Anyway, if you couldn't find any information on it than you just weren't searching hard enough. Did you try the 'archived content'?

A Frankenstein is putting a GSR or Type-R motor into a civic/crx.

To answer your question, a lot of people have done mini-me's. You can put either a z6 or y8 head onto the d15 block. IT WILL WORK. It gives you vtec and will probably get you around (this is a guess) ~120 hp. I did a full Z6 swap and I love it, and vtec doesn't even work yet (******* speed sensor). Anyway, yes it works, search harder.

Heres a hint: go to the honda-tech search again. https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch. Search for 'mini' in the archived content of the crx/ef civic forum. I recieved 238 results, those will answer ALL of your questions.

I've done the hybrid before. It's very easy as long as you take your time and do your research. Like the others have said, just search the archives on this site, tons of useful info.

No problem, figured you couldn't PM yet, but hope the link helps you. Don't worry about searching and being a newbie. We were all there at some point. Many of us are still constantly learning from others as well. Don't sweat it
