JDM D15B non-VTEC came both fuel injected and with dual carbs - here are some of the models they came in - i am sure that this isn't everything:

fuel injected model:

105ps @ 6400 rpm, 13.6kg/m @ 4500 torque, comp. ratio 9.4:1, came in 96-99 Civic Ferio ML 4-door, 96-99 Civic Ferio Mi 4-door and 96-99 Civic Ri hatch

dual carb model came in three versions:

91ps @ 6000 rpm, 12.1kg/m @ 4000 rpm, comp. ratio 9.2:1, came in 88-91 Civic 35M 4-door and 88-91 Civic 35U 4-door

100ps @ 6300 rpm, 12.8kg/m @4500 torque, comp. ratio 9.2:1, came in 88-91 Civic 25X hatch with auto trans, 88-91 Civic 55X 5-door Shuttle, 88-91 CRX 1.5X with auto trans. and 92-95 Civic MX hatch

105ps @ 6500 rpm, 13.2kg/m @ 4500 torque, comp. ratio 9.2:1, came in 88-91 Civic 25X hatch with manual trans, 88-91 CRX 1.5X with manual trans. and 88-91 Civic 35X 4-door

my guess is that your D15B is one of the dual carb models that has been converted to MPFI - does it have a block-off plate on the back of the head close to the distributor where the manual fuel pump was located? - would probably be diamond shape with 2 bolts

They were running street legals on Dec 6th and my best time was 17.1 et @ 79 mph.

You'd gain much more HP if you swapped it.

its good motor for DD, what do u mean by good motor?! u should tell us first i want a good motor for.... then we'll let u know.

if u want some power on this engine only u can boost it. or make a mini-me swap and call it a day

good motor for DD then my question is answered...i do not want to go boost at all, i rather have NA power.
to be specific i meant is it a good motor to go all NA. i want to go back to autox and single cams are not bad unless i want to stay in my class which would be STS. a DOHC motor would put me in another class which i would not mind either. this guy had a CLEAN 90 Si hatch with a single cam in STS and was almost 2 seconds faster than my 2007 Honda Fit. of course his EF was fully spec for STS.

It would be an incremental increase over the twin carburetor system (if any).

Sorry for raising this from 2 years ago, but it most closely relates to what I'm looking at and searching for. We apparently have a d15b with no MPFI, I'm trying to reassure myself, it's tough to find info on.

yes, that looks to me like the block-off plate for the mechanical fuel pump on the carbed engine
