D-series tranny help clutch pedal goes all the way to the floor?
Replaced clutch in my trans, put tranny back on and now clutch pedal goes to the floor. I hooked everything back up right. Could I have missed something?

Guess it would help if I had said the trans is a cable one.

Make sure your clutch cable is hooked up correctly both at the trans and at the pedal under the dash, and make sure it's not broken. As long as your clutch pressure plate is good and the clutch kit is the correct one for your car then everything inside should be ok. it's very unlikely that something is installed wrong cause if it was then the tranny would not have even bolted back on smoothly and you would have known right away that something was not right. I bet it has to do with your cable somehow

tighten the cable pull on it and then screw the plastic bolt down so it is adjusted right then it should work dont over do it just to where u can feel the clutch at the top may be like a .5 in down from the top.

I wish it were that easy but I can move the arm with one finger. I guess I will have to remove trans again.

I think all it is is your clutch cable adjustment. It just happened to me a week ago when i put my zc in.Put in a new clutch and 8lb. flywheel. And my clutch pedal went to the floor! All i did was turn that black **** on the cable till i got good feel, was like 20 turns till my pedal was right. You should have about an inch of pedal play once it is correct.

The part that you can move with your finger is all the free-play it has to take up until the release bearing presses on the pressure plate fingers. Use the cable adjustment to take up most of that slack. Don't drop your transmission just yet.

Tried that but no go, dropped the tranny beginning to wonder if the cltuch was wrong one. Measured old one to new one. The new one is 2 inches from fly wheel to pressure plate, and old one is 2.5 inches. The new clutch is the exedy fidanza combo off ebay. The ad said 88-91 civic 1.5 1.6 is it the wrong one?

if it bolts up and make sure the disk diameter will fit in side the fly wheel and then make sure your fork is on there with the bearing and have it hooked on the little ball so it work fine when u are done keep checking that while u are installing the trans it not hard to work on that car i all ways pull it all out motor and so.
