crx wasting alot of gas
Ok my brother in laws crx hf is wasting a lot of gas....Its sounds like its real accelerated so we adjusted the acceleration cable but when we did that it sounded like the car wanted to turn off so we left it back to the way it was so now we are stuck and have no idea what can be causing this..

Re: crx wasting alot of gas
Sounds like my hf but I have sohc zc with sunk 2 cam, aem fuel rail, injectors, lighten flywheel, stage 2 clutch and a chipped p28. Does he have any mods because there is the dilemmaof performance and gas mileage. Also what ecu is he running?

Do they have a gas leak?
Have you looked at the top of the ECU to make sure the LED isn;t blinking? As some people remove the bulb if a code is thrown to just get rid of a car.
How long has the car been getting this bad mileage?

personally i would remove the headers from the hf since the hf design look pretty good for the car no only will the header cool off the exhaust (one wire o2 sensore not heated) because of the material it is made of but it also places the 02 further back in the which will desipitate more heat before it reaches the o2. it is very important to get the o2 has hot as possible during initial start up and keep it hot.
how well has the car been maintained?
it sounds like you have a loose vaccum hose or dirty/bad iac
injectors could be leaking it could be a endless amount of posibilities we need more info
