88-89 CRX headlight the same or different as 88-89 EF hatchback headlight? Are they interchangeable? are the brackets the same of different?

Re: CRX vs EF hatch
Any easy way to see if parts are interchangeable is to look up aftermarket parts on a good website. For example look up projector head lights for 88-89crx and compare the picture to 88-89 civic. But sorry they are not interchangeable.

Re: CRX vs EF hatch
so wth? everyone is saying different things. Who honestly knows, because I want to buy 3dr hatch projectors so that I can use clean plastic cover on my oem housing headlights but ebay just sells "88-89 civic crx projector halo headlights"

All 88-91 headlights are the same, with minor changes
some have a moisture trap, to filter out moisture.
but, all the brackets are different.
even the sedan ones will fit, as long as you change the brackets.
i should know... my crx has a hatchback headlight. gonna change it out for a sedan one right away though.

i have also used several different head lights in my 90 crx si and my 90 civic si
headlights all fit if you change the brackets
side markers come in different ways

Re: CRX vs EF hatch
This is a key point. It's not the headlight that you have to worry about, it's the bracket. I swapped 90/91 headlights into an 89 that had eBay projectors, but I had to take out the 90/91 OEM lights and reuse the 88/89 eBay bracket to make it fit.

The headlights can be interchanged no problem, i've done it many times!
The brackets only differ from the side marker mounting position, so you can either swap the brackets (easy), or just get the matching style of side markers to go along with what ever gen headlight brackets you have. 88-89 or 90-91
Hope this helps clear up everything

yup. all 88-91 usdm civic and crx [including 4dr] headlights are interchangeable.
you just need to change the brackets it mounts on:
if you want your corner lights to have a 'one-screw-mount' use a 90-91 headlight bracket.
if you want your corner lights to have a 'dual-screw-mount' use the 88-89 headlight bracket.
other than that the headlight itself are all the same.

Furthermore, I'm not sure you're aware, but the projector covers will be different than the OEM ones. Not by a whole lot, and I'm not saying that it won't fit, but it will be different.

Re: CRX vs EF hatch
How about going to pep boys and get a headlight polishing kit for $15? Then swap the hi beam and low beam wiring in the plugs. After you re-aim the headlights you can drive around with really bright lights and everybody will think you spent a bunch of money.
