Re: crx roof (SOLvtec)
If you are talking about the roof skin itself, the DX and Si requires removing about half a dozen spot welds per side, 6 or 8 across the rear and about a dozen across the windshield/roof line. After that, you need to burn/melt or cut the body glue and it pops pretty much right out. Not a hard job but pretty tedious and you will want a spot weld drill bit. Would assume the HF would be the same as the other two in this regard.
(you have to unbolt the hatch and remove the windshield btw)

Re: crx roof (phat-S)
Here is a link showing how I "replaced" the roof on my hatch (sunroof to std);
http:www.performanceforum.com/....html
Within the page is a link to a page showing how an individual did much the same thing on a CRX.
It's not technically a hard job, but not for the faint of heart!!!!!
There are a lot of little details involved also. Things like the fact that you pretty much have to remove the complete interior (to get the headliner out). In the process, plastic clips break and you have to buy new ones. Honda has dis-continued certain items. I wanted a 89 "grey" headliner and had to buy a 90. That forced me to get the mirror cover plates for the 90. It goes on quite a bit!!
It may be a good idea if you post exactly what you want to do. My guess is that you want to convert a CRX to "glass-top". What would scare me off on the project would be the availability of glass seals and such.

Re: crx roof (Wes V)
Wes, you are a brave soul... My hat's off to you for even tackling such a project. Nice writeup on it, too. I *almost* wanted to try it on my '90 CRX Si after reading that page. Almost.
I'm with ya on not really digging the sunroof, too. For me, it's not just about the hassle when the damn thing inevitably breaks, leaks, gets out of line, or what have you; it's also about HEADROOM. In my '91 CRX DX (sunroof-less), I'm comfortable; in my '90 Si... not so much. I have to scrunch down just that little bit more to keep my head from hitting the roof just behind the sunroof opening. That scrunching is hell on my lower back. Yeah, sometimes it kinda sucks being over 40 years old and over 6'8" tall.
Since the '90 Si (Barbados Yellow, all original, all stock, and very nearly mint condition) is not ever going to be my daily driver, though, I'll tough it out.
Mike

Re: crx roof (Kwicko)
Kwicko;
The guy (Louie) that did the CRX roof swap did it exactly for the same reason (height). (and 40 is NOT old to some of us!)
I still think the original poster desires to build a "glass-top". I'd think about it except for having to buy things like the seals. At a bare minimum, you would have to order them from Japan.
