crower vtec camshafts keep breaking?
my cousins b16a crx crower camshafts snapped twice? both after break in ? right when he hits vtec the camshaft just breaks...1st time was the ex. camshaft, now it is the intake cam. dont know what to do, we been through 2 b16a heads now, and 2 sets of crower vtec camshafts. anyone know what could cause the camshafts to break? the first head was built with skunk2 valves, retainers, and all... than we couldnt afford another set and just put those camshafts into a stock b16a head..after 1000 miles of break in, and than we finally hit vtec the ******* camshafts broke! not once but twice...someone have any idea on what the hell is going on thx.!

yes i used a torque wrench, it was installed correctly...we had 1 set of these crower camshafts in my friends b16a crx, and he ran them fine, and they only seem to ***** up in my cousins crx??

On most cases it's the lost motion assemblies. If you have one or more that is sticking it can bind the cams and cause them to break.
A trick rarely used is to switch the B series LMAs with H22 ones.
The ones from the H22 are open springs without the cup as in the B.
The H22 LMAs allow bigger lobe cams to run without the posibility of interference or running into stuck LMAs.
The H22 LMAs fit the B series heads, all you need is a 20 thousands washer to shim them to the right hight.
