Compression tester adapter stuck in spark plug hole!!!!
I was doing a compression test when i tryed unscrewing the tester the adapter stayed in the whole. does anyone know of a way to take the adapter off ? I'm planning on using red loc tite on the tester and screwing it in letting it sit and see if i can remove it like that.

Re: Compression tester adapter stuck in spark plug hole!!!!
Guys i really need some help, I tryed doing a compression test and when i tryed screwing the spark plug in. The adapter that connects to the comp. tester stayed in the spark plug hole. I tryed everything to get it out, i put loctite on the thread on the hose and screwed that in. As soon as i come in the house to talk to my friend about it and explain to him. He reminded me that the force i used tighting the spark plug might have tighten the adapter further inside aswell, 30 minutes past and he tells me that the adapter is not going to be easy to take out with the hose inside because its not hand tighten the spark plug forced it in deeper and harder to get out. Well know the hose is stuck on and woun't come out. If anyone can help me please do i really need someone to help me on this. Sorry for the long writing thx to everyone.

u kinda fked yourself when you loctited the hose onto the fitting..i'm not sure what to tell u now, but if u can get the hose off try finding a flat head to hammer into the adapter without breaking it and then back it out.

Diameter of spark plug tube.
Depth of spark plug tube.
Diameter of extruding bit of tester.
You have to be really lucky to find a pair of pliers that will open wide enough to grab the extruded part, yet not hit the walls of the spark plug tube. You will also have the issue of getting enough "grip" on the part to apply the torque directly along the rotational axis.

Re: Compression tester adapter stuck in spark plug hole!!!!
I just had this happen to my roomie last week and the long skinny set of crapsman needle nose i have did the job just fine. I just don't think the idea of putting a flat blade screwdriver in my head and "beating" on it sound like a good plan for my motor but opinions are like escalades everybodys got one ...

Re: Compression tester adapter stuck in spark plug hole!!!!
This has happened to me in times. Screw the thing back into the adapter and start the car again to get compression into the cylinder, then don't release the air out and turn and the adapter should come out. When there's pressure in the cylinder the adapter will come out.

I've having the exact same problem, I used loctite on the compression tester to try and get the adapter to come out. The hose just kept spinning.
Now i'm stuck.

Re: Compression tester adapter stuck in spark plug hole!!!!
I had this happen to a friends car...It took 3 days to get it out...We ran the car on 3 cylinders to help heat it up and expand the metal and then took really skinny long needle nose and got it out.

If you would take a minute I have a thread about a different problem but I think the two are related. The spark plug where the adapter was stuck got really damaged, I don't know what happened.
