compression calculator. need help. mini-me
do you know of any other compression calculator besides http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/D.htm ?
here's what my setup is going to be.
sohc zc block (which i believe is the same as the d16a6)
Z6 or Y7 head
Z6 or Y8 headgasket
question is would the piston and piston-to-deck height be taken from the zc or a6?
on this compression calculator the zc settings i've heard are meant for DOHC ZC, mine is SOHC ZC. let me know if that makes sense.

Re: compression calculator. need help. mini-me (katsumoto)
use:
Bore = 75mm
Stroke = 90mm
Combustion Chamber volume = 34.6cc
Piston Volume = -3.4cc
Piston-to-Deck clearance = 0.020"
Headgasket thickness = 0.037"
CR = 9.955:1
this is assuming that a sohc zc bottom end is the same as the d16a6.
piston to deck height is how far the piston flat is above or below the top of the block. it depends on deck height, piston, stroke, and rod length. different pistons sit higher or lower in the block...
Piston to Deck Height =
Deck Height - Compression Height - Rod Length - Stroke/2
(make sure all are the same units... ie. mm)
