clunking sound when i step on brakes

Default clunking sound when i step on brakes

i was backing out of my drive way today when I stepped on my brakes and I heard this clunking sound near the break pedals sounded like it was near the axles or joints has anyone discovered this problem..

There should be only one brake pedel, the sound coming from the "pedel and the axle" sounds like it could be a couple serious problems... But besides all that just check out your brake pads they may b very worn.

my car did that when my tire was loose. It was making a thumping sound for a couple days and then i took the time to check it out and the bolts were loose to the touch. I could have been killed.

My car also did that before the joint in my axle broke. I had to get it toed back to my house... cost me $90 for the tow, $80 for the new axle(rebuilt), and $75 to have it put in. I could have put it in myself, just didn't have the time.

I'd say check your lug nuts, and check your axle.

Make sure all your bolts are on tight.
