Default Check Engine light not on, but reading

hello. I just wanna know if this ever happened to anyone else. I was bored at school today, waiting for my next class. When I decided to plug in my jumper plug into my car and it started reading (yes, i carry the jumper with me in my car), 22 Vtec Pressure switch and 6 ECT switch came up. turned of the ignition, took out the jumper and turned on my car back to check engine light was gonna come on, but nothing. turned back off, plugged in the jumper, turn ignition to power and it started reading again. i've been driving the car for a few months now, fresh swap. check engine light never came on before swap or after or during. just curious if this is normal or should i replace those 2 plugs/switch?

91 hatch, stock b18c1 swap w/p28 chipped ecu

Thanks!

Does the check engine light come on when you cycle the key?

No it doesn't. It'll start reading the codes if I were to put the jumper in. But other then that, there's no check engine light at all while driving or when the car is on. This is weird cause since I did the swap, I never bother putting the jumper in since the check engine light never came on. Now today while just for fun and games, I decided to plug in the jumper and it starts reading the codes. But without the jumper, no check engine light. Is it a ghost? Lol. Just curious now. It's bugging me.

If you put the key in and turn it to the second click and the CEL doesn't come on like it's supposed to and go off after a few seconds (this is the priming of the fuel pump sending fuel to the engine), then your bulb could be blown/pulled out of your cluster.

This is what I was trying to determine. Your check engine light was on the whole time, but the bulb was either burned out or missing.

Probably just old fault codes stored in ECU. Reset the ECU to see whether the codes return.

Second click, all the bulbs check out good. All the light shows up, then goes away. The only one that remains on is my e brake and my door light with my for open. So it's definitely not the bulb.

I will do that and see.

Edit: Okay will this worked! I never knew that old codes can be store in the ECU even though it's cleared. THANKS! Learned something new
