Car wont start when its HOT outside
My car wont start when its hot. It turns over but dosent fire up. I cranked it about 7 times and it didnt fire. Then it sputtered a bit and died. It cranked up fine when it was cool outside.
It did this in the summer also. I heard that if the starter is bad and it gets too hot, it wont crank. Could this be the problem?

Main Relay when you CEL goes off you should hear it click if not its going out on you need to replace it. Its on the driverside kick panel up inside the dash

when you turn the ignition on your CEL doesn't come on in your dash??? Turn the ignition on you may be able to hear the fuel pump prime for a few seconds then, the CEL will go off and at the same time you will hear a small click. Also when its not working you can take a screwdriver handle and tap it a few times and see if will fix til you can get it replaced. Its a ghetto fix but works

its most likely the main relay as stated above. instead of speding $50 or so for a new one, you can do the common fix if you can solder. just remove the relay, and open up the casing. then reheat all of the solder joints applying a little more solder. dont apply too much and make sure not to overheat it with the iron. then reassemble and reinstall and it will be like new. it work for me and countless others that have done it.

it's always the little things like a wire or a relay-if you've already checked the usual. good luck

I misunderstood, yes my cel comes on when i turn the ignition to the Start position. I will listen for the fuelpump.
