Car died, jumped it, then when put in gear it dies again?
So here's the story...
I just spent $990 in the shop to get my car put back together, transmission replaced, and new clutch installed in my Honda CRX 89' model. I get it out of the shop yesterday and to my dismay it is already giving me problems. It was working fine at first and then slowly went down hill
The first problem I noticed was when it became fairly hard to shift through the gears.. Especially getting it in 1st gear. I pulled up to a friends and chilled there for a bit..then later on I began driving again.. still very hard to shift and I noticed it was so hard to put in first gear I could not do it. Right after that as i pull up to an intersection i put it in neutral to coast to the stop sign. Tried to put in gear and the car died. Pushed it to a nearby store, jumped the battery, got the car running and attempted to put it in gear again, and it died again.
So what do you guys think the problem could be?
I reallly reallllly hope its not another bad transmission problem... sigh. . .

@journeyquest:
I believe its cable based.., not exactly positive on that thought but given the fact its pretty old school i'd imagine it is, will find out 2moro when the guy takes a look at it.
@zeusdavis:
EXACTLY..the car begins to bog down and putts out when i attempted* 2put it in gear and give it gas. . .
@hatchet_honda:
The pedal is fine i think*, its not hard to push down at all it seems pretty normal.

Sounds like you guys think it's a problem with the clutch not being adjusted right? That's such a relief b'cuz I had bought the transmission from a friend of a friend , wasn't sure if it was a good one just going by there words.. So I'd be completely bummed if I found out the tranny shop charged $1G just to put in a crapped out transmission!
I hoping it is a clutch issue and the guy that put it together will realize his mistake and fix.

It definately sounds like your cable isnt adjusted, just call the shop and explain your problem. Don't call yelling and blaming them, that'll get you no where. You just spent a good bit of money there and if you took it to a reputable shop then they should be more than willing to help you out.

I think they did.., when i got it back it seemed completely fine. It was only until about an hour into driving it I noticed a problem and then when after that hour was up the major problem started to occur.

So you got it figured out and fixed? Good stuff, also i'm not 100% why he mentioned it but they're talking about the clutch fork. Its the peice the cable pulls on to move the release bearing into the spring fingers on your pressure plate.
