Where online can i go to buy a new starter relay for a 91 si...????????????? .i can find a main relay with no problem, but i cannot find any parts place that carry the starter relay

I just went through the whole "starter relay" thing as well.

After a pile of searching, I came up with "there is no starter relay"

Go back and search for an "ignition relay"

tried and no luck....is there any other names for it? I thought it was the relay close to the main relay under the dash?

i pull out this other relay (four prong) from under the dash and the car doesnt turn over so im guessing thats it....i will just take it into to napa and see what they can find....i live in a small community so i have limited resources to auto parts people who know what the hell they are doing

Can you possibly take a pic of the plug the relay was connected to?

I have a mysterious 4 connection plug under my dash that has power from the ignition cylinder, but my starter won't work by turning the key. I'm wondering if I misplaced something when I tore it apart years ago.

is it an auto? if it is it's a start inhibit relay, it won't let the car start unless the car is in neutral or park, some cars have them and some don't, sometimes the current going to the starter solenoid on the starter goes directly through the safety switch. A lot of modern manuals have them too in the clutch safety switch, verify it's not one of those switches before you blame the relay

some of the third generation accords also have an added on start relay from the factory,but it's not on the wiring diagram. I have a wiring diagram that shows a start relay for mine but mines doesn't have one, some of them also have an oddball inline fuse factory,thats not on any diagram. Honda did some strange stuff back then,time to break out the meter

well, i cant take a pic right now cuz the car is broke down far away...if i type in "91 crx si starter relay" exactly on google images, the first two pics are what im talking about....and ive seen other posts on here or another crx forum where there is a pic of it and they call it the starter relay....i just cannot find it on any autoparts websites and swear its got to have another name and not ignition relay neither. i swear on napa auto website i found the part but its labeled as "AC control relay" wtf?....I guess i will just pull it out and take it and see what name comes up for it....it is under my dash (definitely not the main relay)

Looks like Autozone carries it under "Relay - Main".
The actual main relay is "Relay - Fuel"

News to me. You were right that the solenoid is built into the starter.
This 'starter relay' exists only for the clutch switch, so it's kind of a misnomer.
At least it looks easy to bypass

well after i buy that relay and the main relay hopefully my si with start and run good as new

I went out and found the relay that used to be mounted by one of the fans in the engine bay (it's wrapped in brown rubber). I stuck that one in place of the relay behind/under the radio, and put the relay from under/behind the radio in the starter relay location, and mine fired right up.

yea that relay is easy to bypass in an emergency the car will start normal with it bypassed, the clutch switch simply provides the ground to it when you turn the key to start and the clutch is pushed
