A/C Fixed-maybe- still have bubbles in sight glass
Added freon to system (r12) and now have cooling and my 56 fuse does not blow. Still have bubbles in sight, called local garage and was told to add more freon. Have added two 12oz caans. Should I add another 12oz can? Anyone know how much freon a 91 Civic uses???????

88-91 civics use 34oz of R-12. (3 cans)
Bubbles in the sight glass typically, but not always, indicate a low charge.
Sight Glass is located in the 'liquid line' and as such should be solid liquid.
After 34oz are in the system, if bubbles are still present the system may have other problems.
Good Luck!

Where is the sight glass your looking at? The one on the receiver/drier or on the gauge manifold? The one on the gauge manifold will never show liquid if your properly charging through the low-side. If you have the sight glass on the receiver, you should be seeing liquid. Aftermarket receiver/drier doesn't always have a sight glass.

Now her car gets cold like it used to, got it down to 44º on the high fan setting. Her car is notorious for freezing you out. Even in the 100º+ days in TX, you'd have to add some heat to the mix.

I replaced my filter dryer that had a sight glass, with a BNIB OEM Honda one that did not have one. Not sure why??
The filter dryer is always located in the liquid line. (cars)
There is such a thing as a suction line filter dryer, but not for cars that I'm aware of.
The most accurate way to charge is by weight.
You can also charge by 'superheat' and a 'pressure/temperature' chart.
The sight glass method just gets you in the right neighborhood, so to speak.
Oh yeah, I'm one of those 'experts' referenced above.
15+ years commercial service work.
Hope that helps, good luck.
