Default Busted Tension Pin in rear drums of CRX

I was replacing my rear drums and one of the 2 small tension pins broke off, i was just wondering what will happen if i only have on in place. It seems as if it's purpose is just to hold the shoes in place. However, It doesn't seem to have any whare it can move to because of the springs holding it in place. Has anyone else done this, do you think it will be a problem.

You are correct the pin DOES hold the shoe in place. Good luck getting your drums off next time. No pin=drum wont come off.

Wait what pins are we talking about. The only ones that really hold the shoe to the backing plate are the 2 that go threw the show, those are a must.

What number are you talking about ?

Are you sure, because the springs and drums will still hold the shoes in place. It just has no whare to go, once the brakes are pressed the shoes have no whare to go but to press against the drums. Or am i missing something?

Well then go and try it and don't come crying to us with a "car wouldn't stop, hit a pole" thread later.

Just go to autozone or pepboys and by the spring return kit, there is no way the shows are gonna hold.

theres a force at the top of the shoe presssing it into the drum. without that pin there, the shjoe will just rotate around in the drum and wont exert much force at all..
