Default brake problems

Ok i have posted this before but now i have new info lets see if we can get this figured out. I have a 88 crx si with stock front brakes and 92 gsr rear discs
the booster is out of a 90 crx dx i believe the master cylinder is a 88 si unit the prop valve is out of the 90 crx dx and the front brakes seize up while driving. I discovered my front passenger caliper was bad so i replaced it with a NEW not Rebuilt caliper and i went ahead and replaced both rubber lines. I took it for a spin the same thing was happening. Well the car was on and the brakes were locked i decided to check that valve in the vacuum line from the booster to the mani. Now the car is on ebrake is down and its not moving (its on a slight driveway incline). I pulled that vaccum line the car revved (uderstandable it now has a vacuum leake) and the cars brakes released and it started rolling back! I plugged that vacuum line with an extension and drove it around the block the brakes are stiff (lack of power booster assistance) but they stop and they dont lock. What could be wrong so i cna get my power brakes back?

thanks in advance

Sounds like your booster since you did the trial and error work yourself. If the brakes are fine when you eliminated the booster than thats whats making you lock up. Try adjusting the booster under the dash before replacing.

If it was the prop valve then you would have had the same problem when you capped of the booster! So thats not the problem

exactly the previous owner is a freind of mine and we have been working on these brakes for about a year and he lied to me and told me **** was new when it wasnt otherwise i prolly would have fixed these along time ago

and the adjustiung the booster under the dash i would do that by the rod with threads on it right?? we looked at that it seems to be correct im gonna go ahead and replace the booster this friday i figure worse possible thing that could happen is i still have to do the adjustment lol but i got all new front brakes haha

also anybody have a reveiw on some cheap performance rotors for my front and rear brakes??

Some nice replacements are brembo blanks. Don't bother with drilled and slotted

Also take pics and post a DIY for the booster replacement. Let me know

Yes, adjust the pushrod on the brake booster, most likely out of spec. This will fix your problem.

This is not letting your caliper seals retracing the piston.

Ok so what should it be set at? I had a couple people look at it should I just shim the master cylinder?

No, you should not shim the MC. If you do so then you will have a vacuum leak. That is why there is a seal between the MC and booster. Plus your booster will decrease in performance.

I would search on adjusting the pushrod. Its sort of a pain. I had to remove mine to do so.

The ghetto way is to grind down the pushrod, not recommended.

Careful when it comes to brakes, you don't want to mess up the thing that helps your car from hitting ****.
