The best SOHC D series head
So I've been wanting to build a D15 SOHC non vtec all motor for a while now, but I want to know a few things. One thing is, I know the bottom ends of most of the D15's are the same, but what's the difference in all the SOHC D series heads (other than the cams). I was wandering if there was a major difference in the port size of the heads and the valve size in the head. I was thinking about building a D15B2 head with a port and polish, valves, valve springs, etc.

Re: The best SOHC D series head (HaulingAddison)
Looking at part numbers it seems to me that the b1,b2 and a6 are the same heads...different cams/intake/exhaust manifolds but same heads supposedly.

They are all the same casting. One difference that should be mentioned is the valvesprings. the a6 head and 93+ b7 head had better valvesprings.

Re: The best SOHC D series head (89s1)
Alright, cool. Thanks for the info. I've got a year and few months til my driving probation is over so I'll probably take that time to build my B2 head for higher performance. I've already got the head, might as well build it.
