First step: the hardest step; finding a "v-tech" engine.
Second step: is learn how to use a search engine.

1) Read closely
2) Make a list of everything he says you need
3) Have fun with a hammer on the frame rail

wow....

First... What the hell is vtech????????

Second. It is obviously more work than you can handle if you werent able learn anything from a simple google search...

Read my build if you have questions and are too lazy to search.

I'll try to be nice now, because my anger of your misspelling of "v-tech" has subdued into a comical aspect. The reason why no-one here wants to help you is:

First: v-tech is actually v-tec
Second: There are plenty of resources of swapping a B-series engine into your EF.

So basically you have to do your research. The basic things you will need to consider are these. Which engine do you actually want, and how much money do you have. Leave yourself about 1k extra for padding.

The easiest is probably a obd0 b16a. The newer the engine the more work you have to do.

The following are required:
mounts, tranny, axles, wiring, ecu, shifter linkage, coolant hoses

Depending on the engine\tranny and what you want the following maybe required:
exhaust, AC adapters, hydro/cable adapters, intake, traction bar\front cross member etc.

Additionally, you will want to do the following optional things while you have the engine out:
Timing belt, water-pump, tune-up, flywheel, clutch, radiator

I agree with what he said. There is pretty much an endless amount of options you can use. Anywhere from another single cam, to a J series V6. Your car. YOU do the work and research and then decide.

the v6 would set off the weight distribution, you really shouldn't even put in a b20 its to big size wise, i know i want a b18 and just had questions about vtec and non vtec versons, i have a d16 in my car right now i want dohc and more power, i've just worked on old cars all my life and dont know how or if its worth the trouble hooking up the vtec so that it works properly, my vtec is on a toggle switch right now and the motor isn't in good shape, i want a motor that is worth putting a turbo on. and yes i will have to have an exhaust made as well, im pretty sure the b series header will fit just fine though

I know guys with a 50/50 ratio with b20s... Hell even a J can be balanced. It all comes down to more or less suspension work.
Plenty of guys have turbo'd the single cam and made plenty of power.

Look up Speed Factory Racing.

Really a B20 is too big size wise when you want a B18 that is less than a hundred pounds different from the other? You sound like you just want something simple with decent power. A B20, B18, or dual cam ZC would probably suite you fine. Not insulting your intelligence, but having v-tec might be too much tech for you. Basically just another thing to potentially go wrong........if you were to just go B18 or 20 you could always throw a v-tec head on it later.

I must agree with this guy... Just throw a B18b/a in it and call it good.
