ok basically i got an 88 crx si with a b16 swap in it.

i was in miami and was pulling out of a gas station and i hit a NASTY bumper. thought my car was gone fall apart.

immediately after that i noticed my lights dimming ever time i accelerated. the car drove 100 % normal and did not feel weird at all, but whenever i pressed down on the gas everything would dim out, including my cd player would turn off, and when i let off the gas everything would be normal and the cd player would come back on.

also my water temp and oil press. gauge do the same, when i give it gas they go all the way to up and when i let off they go back to where they should be.

checked all grounds and everythin seems to be fine.

changed alternator with one that i know was working because i immediately figured the bump messed up the alternator and it is doing the same thing.

changed main relay

im running a pr3 ecu, if the ecu was messed up you think that would have anything to do with it? just shootin out possible ideas because i have no clue why its doing this.

the car runs fine its not that bad, just at night time having my lights continuosly dim out and my cd player shut up off like every 10 secs., it starts to get annoying.

did it dent the frame and is it rubbing against the alternator....


if not then check alt belt tension.

i used to have a similar problem, but the 10 mm bolt on the alternator wasnt tightened all the way, i doubt this is the answer to your problem, but also worth checking i guess.
