Axle seal keeps leaking
So this has been a mission and a half...
I have a 94-00 half shaft and 94-00 axles with 91 LS transmission.. Now the problem is that the axle seal on the drive side that goes into the half shaft keeps leaking.. Both times I used a 90-93 axle seal brand new from autozone I did try the 94-00 but the outside diameter of it is to small for the transmission but I noticed that the 90-93 one goes in to the transmission perfect I used a big enough socket to put it in not all the way just perfect but when I test fitted on the half shaft the inner diameter has play like it doesn't fit right.. I'm starting to think I need a 90-93 half shaft and just to be clear I have a manual half shaft not a automatic one

Re: Axle seal keeps leaking
okay, I was going to refrain from commenting, however, I cannot resist. This is the easiest option, UNLESS you don't have the gumption to proceed. Simply obtain a caliper, measure the diameter of the output shaft, the diameter of the hole the seal goes in, to ten thousands of an inch. Proceed to a bearing house, making sure the replacement is double lip with a spring to hole tension on the half shaft surface. Install newly obtained seal, fill with the appropriate fluid, and you are done. I have read many posts with this problem and do not understand the lack of imagination with sourcing of seals. Just an old hotrod guys solution when a lack of a part number stumps me. Good luck!
