Default Anyone running power steering with b series?

I did a search, and came across the following threads:

https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...power+steering

https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...power+steering

https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...power+steering

https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...power+steering

I came across this post:

"use a rear subframe with rack from a civic with power steering (my dx had power steering) and use a 94+ integra pump and lines"

That was the best I could gather based on what all the different threads were saying.

Also, some threads mentioned something about VSS. I'm not sure what that was all about.

This topic was surprisingly not covered in the FAQ (unless I missed it).

If anyone can confirm this WHO HAS ACTUALLY DONE IT, maybe we can get this stickied/added to the FAQ

Pics would be great!

P.S. I have also read through all the "why do you need it" and "it's not worth it" posts as well, so no need to repost those. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I'd take it, but I don't know if it will be the right one. I'm trying to find someone who has done this before so I don't end up with parts I don't need.

Do a search on the fittings. There is 2 different style of fittings they used on the pump. Figure out what fitting you got and then go find a pump that uses that style of fitting. pictures are your best friend

Can you asked him how he did it? What lines he used, from which car, any special parts needed, etc...

Probably have to run this pump...

I believe that's the pump from the jdm ef with a b series.

I know you mentioned this, however I'm curious as to your answer. What is your reason for wanting to keep your PS? As crxsir stated, at speed, you are going to have some VERY loose steering. I dislike that feeling at highway speeds, you don't feel in control in a sense.

simple.
I'm 115lbs 5"4 have tiny arms and I've always had to be careful with my wrist writing hurting it when I was a young b-boy... lol

the other reason is that I "prefer" the easy of being able to turn the wheel quickly for events like autocross when you really don't get up to high speeds and have to wrestel with stick tires.

I'm a tiny guy, do don't tell me to "hit the guy" and bulk up... lol

I might be seeing my buddy this weekend, I'll see if he can reveal his secret on how he did it. I've been trying to get him onto this site for quite some time. So we will see.

I'm not big by any means, just taller than you lolz. Even at 10mph, the steering feels GREAT imo, doesn't take much effort to turn at all, only when you are at a complete stop parallel parking. How often will you do that if you're gonna autocross the car?

well this is not a daily driven car. So when i do take it out in the summer months it mainly will see autox and road racing..... (2-4 sessions each), other than going to local meets i only drive it 4-5K a year.

The only time I like the steering feel of my EF over PS feel is when it's above 45mph, great feed back and requires just enough effort to point the car in the direction you really want it to go.

I have not had power steering in my car since I bought it over 10 years ago. I'm just tired of having to use two hands to turn the wheel when I'm parallel parking or anything that involves maneuvering in tight places. It takes longer, and I just don't like the effort required. My EF is over 20 years old, I have spent thousands of dollars upgrading everything else in it. If I've got a chick inside with me, I just feel a little embarrassed that I don't have power steering. I don't know, it's just one of those things I guess.

Ive got a B20 in my sedan, the DA Integra pressure line does not fit the civic rack/subframe. I have Integra pump and brackets currently (multirib)

I managed to keep the stock system in my B20 equiped EF Sedan. I made a bracket out of aluminum, legthened the pressure line 5 inches and the low pressure return hose 5 inches. The main line cost $40 to have lengthened. This is using the stock v-rib belts and OBD-0 LS main pulley.

The consensus on the lines is that you can have the lines modified at any hydraulic shop so that the D series have the fitting ends from the B series lines. This is what I discovered with h22 swaps so it should hold true to b series swaps. There are certain things that are common knowledge with engine swaps, but most people don't think about shops that specialize in hydraulic lines. They are more common than you think.

Now for a new question to add to the 3 year old thread -

Has anyone swapped out steering racks and pumps for maybe one from an EG?
That system has reduced power assist at high speeds. Easier turning at slow spped and less twitchy at high speed.
