Default Any ideas? Sputter/bog when warm at 1.5-3k rpm

My car has been sputtering bad lately and it seems to be getting progressively worse. It started out as a slight sputter/bog at 2-3k rpm. Now it's from 1.5-3k rpm and horrible. It's pretty embarrassing. As I pass through 1.5-3k rpm, the car seems to almost stand still, then after 3k, it picks up. It mainly happens after the car is warmed up. If I totally avoid 1.5-3k rpm after 1st gear, it's fine no sputter. I know my o2 sensor is going bad. Every so often my cel comes on with code 1. But my gas milage is still good(32-37mpg). The odd thing is that it only does it when warmed up. Can someone point me in a possible direction? (And not tell me that I have to replace everything electrical until I find the culprit. I don't have money for that).

well since it runs in open loop(o2) when its cold and doesnt bog but when its in closed loop and warm it does bog you should try unplugging the o2 sensors or sensor and runnin it like that. if the bog goes away then its your o2 sensor.

That's a good idea. I'll try that. Are there any negative side effects of running w/o an o2 sensor?

Also check your cam timing...mine went off by one tooth retarding it so severely that it had no powerband up until 3k, then it pulled like crazy.

Well, I unplugged the o2 sensor and it still bogged. I swapped it for a new bosch and it still bogs. Any other suggestions? What else can cause this only when the car is warm?
