Default After MPFI swap CEL Code 4.

I did the MPFI swap on my LX sedan and it's been running great but the CEL has been on for code 4 which is a MAP sensor code. I replaced the MAP with the MAP from my EK and the CEL didn't clear. I bought a 4 bar MAP and the CEL will go away but the car will not run. It will start, but die quickly after. I just got back from a junk yard and pulled a MAP from an accord. It acts just like the first two MAPs, runs fine but has a CEL. I have a cheap MAP from ebay on the way and it's a 1.7bar MAP but who knows how long it's going to take to clear customs (chinese new year). What are the chances I got 3 bad MAP sensors? Is there something else that could cause a code 4 CEL?

Pic of the beast.

Yes, check your distributor and distributor wiring. Code 4 is crank angle sensor, not MAP.

Wow, I feel pretty dumb. I think I was reading the picture wrong. Thanks for clearing that up. What should I check? I wired all the colors to their copy. The car runs fine other than a slight hesitation at around 800 rpm.

Time for a new distributor if your wires are in good order.

It would stand to reason that since I've been driving the car it's wired correctly right? It's in limp mode (can't rev past 3100rpm) but it idles fine and runs great other than a slight bog/idle bounce at around 800rpm when at a redlight taking off.

Possibly, but double check. More than likely the distributor may just need replacing. Got any friends that have a spare one, or one you can try off of their car?

I've also bought a distributor from autozone, tried it just to verify, cleaned it up and returned it. They charge a grip for their distributors but I just needed to rule out that mine wasn't working. Turns out my distributor was fine. I was having some weird no start issues one time.

I'm going to pickup a distributor this week hopefully. Going to go to a couple yards and see what's available. If there isn't anything promising I'll just order one on ebay.
